Laranjada
Quick Summary
"Tastes nothing like orange. Still iconic."
Rui's experience
Laranjada is a classic Azorean soda. And let’s be honest from the start. It does not taste like real orange.
It’s basically water, sugar, and mystery citrus vibes. But somehow… it works.
Most of us grew up drinking this. Birthday parties. Summer afternoons. Family barbecues. It’s one of those flavors that sticks with you.
Is it refined? No.
Is it natural juice? Definitely not.
Is it good ice cold in the summer? Absolutely.
And if you mix it with beer? Now we’re talking.
It’s nostalgic. It’s local. And whether we admit it or not, we all kind of like it.
Where to Eat This
You can find laranjada literally everywhere.
Every supermarket in the Azores has it.
Every café.
Every local restaurant.
