    Sausage and Yam Delight

    Quick Summary

"Simple, salty, and dangerously easy to finish."

    Rui's experience

Linguiça com inhame is exactly what it sounds like.

You fry linguiça, a thinner, saltier version of chouriço, and serve it with slices of boiled yam. That’s it. No fancy sauce. No decoration. Just solid ingredients.

The linguiça brings the salt and fat. The inhame balances it with that dense, earthy texture. If the yam is good quality, the whole dish jumps to another level.

You eat it with bread. Always with bread.

It’s a very typical starter. Nothing flashy. Just something you order, share, and suddenly the table goes quiet because everyone’s chewing.

I enjoy it. It’s simple, but it works.

    Where to Eat This

    Some regional restaurants have it.

From the top of my head, you can usually find it at:

Not every place serves it, but when it’s on the menu, it’s a safe choice.
