Queijada da Graciosa is the most famous dessert from Graciosa Island.

It’s a small pastry, rich and very, very sweet. If you like strong sugar energy, this is your thing.

Personally, it’s not one of my favorites because of how sweet it is. But I have to admit, with a cup of coffee, it works. The bitterness of the coffee balances it out nicely.

It’s iconic for Graciosa. If you’re talking desserts from that island, this is the one.

You can find queijadas da Graciosa in most supermarkets across the Azores.

They’re usually sold in boxes, easy to carry, easy to take home.
