Caldeira Velha da Ribeira Grande

This place is pure magic on the north side, near Ribeira Grande. If you like hot springs and real nature, not polished, not touristic, this is one of the best spots on the island.

It’s a natural volcanic hot spring, surrounded by greenery, waterfalls, humidity, and that jungle vibe São Miguel does so well. You can go all year, but winter is clearly the winner. Hot water, cold air, steam everywhere.

This is not about swimming laps. It’s about slowing down, soaking, and just existing for a bit.
