Fuji Sushi Experience

If we’re talking pure quality, Fuji Sushi Experience is hands down the best sushi on São Miguel.

Number one. No discussion.

This is sushi mixed with fine dining.

The food is on another level. Technique, flavor, balance. Everything is superb.

There’s honestly no point in overexplaining the food. It’s exceptional.

The restaurant itself is very small and intimate.

Quiet, cozy, and clearly designed as an experience.

Service is good, professional, and fits the level of the place.

Now the problem.

The price.

And this is not a “it’s expensive” complaint.

This is a proportion problem.

When you compare Fuji with the rest of the sushi competition on São Miguel, the difference in quality is maybe 10–15%.

But the price is double. Literally half the price elsewhere.

That gap makes no sense.

Not locally. Not in the Azores.

For a tourist, maybe this feels normal. For locals, it’s honestly ridiculous.

So yeah, I probably won’t go back.

Not because the food isn’t amazing.

But because the price is completely out of proportion.
