"Okay trail. For trail junkies only."

    Rui's experience

I’ve done this trail once, a long time ago, and yeah… it was okay. Nothing more than that.

The trail is very easy. You walk, you see some green, some interesting stone structures along the way. To be honest, I’m not even sure if they’re small stone bridges or old water canals. Could be either. They look cool for a minute, then you keep walking.

There’s no real wow moment here. And once you’ve done the top trails on São Miguel, you’re spoiled. This one just doesn’t compete.

I also remember getting confused at some point and ending up on a different path. Not dangerous, but not super clear either.

If you’re a trail junkie and want to do everything, sure.

If not, skip it. There are better trails on the island.

    Pros

    • Very easy trail
    • Interesting old stone structures

    Cons

    • Very skippable compared to other trails
