Jardim António Borges

Jardim António Borges is an amazing botanical garden right in the middle of Ponta Delgada. City noise outside, calm and green inside. The contrast is great.

It’s packed with plant species from all over the world. Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, stuff you don’t normally see around here. You can tell this isn’t just a random city park, it’s a proper botanical garden.

It’s not huge, and that makes sense since it’s in the city center, but it’s very well used. Lots of shade, quiet paths, and plenty of spots to sit and slow down a bit.

There’s a small kids’ playground, picnic areas, and space to just hang out. Good for families, couples, or just killing time in a nice way. It’s usually not overcrowded, which makes it even better.

If you need a break from walking around Ponta Delgada, this is the place.
