    If you want to see how locals actually spend a summer afternoon in São Miguel, this is the kind of place. The Parque de Merendas do Pisão is a simple picnic park just above Caloura, surrounded by greenery and filled with stone tables and barbecue spots.

    On sunny days, especially Sundays, it’s common to see families setting up full-on barbecues here. You’ll smell the burning wood before you even park the car. It’s not fancy, not a tourist attraction, just a solid local hangout where people eat, relax, and spend a lazy afternoon outside.
