Pico do Ferro

I’ve only been here two or three times in my life, and honestly, I don’t even remember the last time I came. But I do remember one thing very clearly, the view is beautiful.

Pico do Ferro gives you a full, clean view over Lagoa das Furnas. And that matters.

If you think about it, the big lakes on São Miguel all have a “main” viewpoint. Lagoa do Fogo has one. Sete Cidades has Vista do Rei. Furnas needs one too, and this is it.

As far as I know, and in my experience, this is the only viewpoint where you can actually see the entire lake properly. Not half of it. Not a corner. The whole thing.

Access is easy, no drama. You drive almost all the way there, park, walk a bit, done.

If you want that proper Furnas photo, the one that actually shows the scale of the lake, this is where you come. Instagram loves it for a reason, and yeah, I agree with it.
