This is an amazing beach in Vila Franca do Campo and one of the safest bets on the island. It’s a south-facing beach, which already tells you a lot. The water is usually calm, friendly, and actually enjoyable to swim in.
It used to feel more wild back in the day, but honestly, the upgrades didn’t ruin it. They just made it easier. You’ve got a beach bar, a restaurant, proper facilities, and easy access. No suffering required.
This is one of those beaches where you can show up with zero planning and still have a great day.
